PATAGONIA ARGENTINA – TIERRA DEL FUEGO

This journey will take you to the southern tip of South America, in the Tierra del Fuego archipelago, Argentina.

The entire area is rich in rivers, streams, ponds, lagoons and lakes known throughout the world for the presence of large brown trout (Marrones), rainbow trout (Arcoiris), char (Fontinalis) as well as anadromous species such as King salmon, Coho salmon (even some Steelhead) and the powerful Sea trout, better known as Sea-run Brown trout, which flow up several rivers in the area such as the very famous Rio Grande.

Our local partner is a certified and recognized guide of the waters of Ushuaia in Tierra del Fuego, as well as a casting instructor and representative of MyM FlyCast, an activity aimed at fishermen who dedicate themselves to sport and/or recreational fishing in the different areas of Tierra del Fuego.

You will stay near Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world also called “La fin del mundo”, in a strategic accommodation for the best logistics and to allow easy and fast movements to the different fishing destinations. We also have the possibility of staying in local Estancias and/or Hosterias near the various rivers and lakes, to facilitate the development of the established fishing program.

You will fish various waters such as the Rio Fuego, the Rio Ewans, the Rio Chico Este, the Rio Laine, the Rio San Pablo, the Rio Claro as well as the very famous Rio Grande and the Rio Ewans (the latters for sea trout) and the Rio Lasifashaj for both Sea trout, King salmon, Coho salmon and some Steelhead. You will also fish the beautiful Rio Azopardo, also located in Tierra del Fuego but on the Chilean side. This river is included in the itinerary thanks to its abundant runs of King salmon, Coho salmon, Sea trout, and some Steelhead.

Furthermore, there are countless lagoons, ponds, and lakes literally bursting with Trout and Char (as well as salmon in season), such as the famous Lago Fagnano and the countless lagoons near its shores, most notably the Laguna Negra. All these waters (and others not mentioned) are within a couple of hours’ drive from the city of Ushuaia.

Near the latter is located the Tierra del Fuego National Park, which boasts several rivers, lakes, and lagoons where, in addition to trout, both King and Coho salmon swim upstream and can be caught with both spinning and fly fishing.

Other itineraries may be added each year, resulting from exploration and testing of new rivers, lagoons, and lakes in this fantastic land.

Movements are made by off-road vehicles and Quads, to be able to reach the best spots in comfort and safety.

Our expert guides will be able to take you (whether dry fly, nymph or streamer) on fish that you will never forget in your life!

Fishing packages of a minimum of 7-8 nights with 6-7 days of fishing and “Large” packages with 11 nights and 10 days of fishing allow you to fish more waters and more species.

Customized packages are also available, possibly including various excursion programs for non-fishermen.
