FLY FISHING LODGE ON ANDROS ISLAND

Our Lodge invites you to come stalk the monster bonefish of Andros Island, Bahamas from the cozy comforts of our island guest house — ideally located at the mouth of Cargill Creek on Behring Point, Bonefish Capital of the World.
By keeping things on a simpler and more intimate scale, our Lodge offers an unbeatable value on world-class Bahamas bonefishing.

This is where it all began… In the renowned fishing grounds of Andros Island—among the legendary areas of North Bite, Middle Bite, Behring Point, Moxey Town, and the west coast—where iconic guides such as “Crazy Charlie” Smith, Rupert Leadon, and Ivan Neymour pioneered the art of fly fishing for bonefish.

There are endless flats for poling and hard-bottom flats for excellent wade fishing opportunities. The fish here average 4 pounds and up! Nearly every day presents shots at double-digit bones – and at these prices, you’ll be coming back for shot after shot at your next trophy.

Our Lodge can also accomodate also spin-fishing anglers!

Fishing Season and Target Species

Bonefishing on Andros Island is excellent year-round, with the peak season spanning from October to June. Generally, the largest specimens—the so-called “double-digit” fish (weighing 10 pounds or more)—are most frequently encountered between December and March, either singly or in small groups. Spring (April–June) offers an ideal balance of both quantity and quality.

Tarpon are consistently present from May through October (with the first sightings occurring toward the end of April) and are primarily found in the waters off West Andros and within tidal channels.

Permit are most active from late April through October or November, with peak activity during the summer months along the western side of the island.

Other species always present include Mutton Snapper (peaking between April and August), typically ranging from 8 to 15 pounds, as well as the ever-present Barracuda, which is abundant on the flats throughout the year.

The Lodge

Our main lodge can accommodate up to 16 anglers, with an additional 4 anglers at our extension, for a total capacity of 20.
The lodge is family run and employs a small but efficient team, along with several experienced guides from the local community, including two full-time house guides.

Each air-conditioned room features two queen-size beds and a private bathroom.

Meals are served “family style” in the dining room and self-service bar where guests, guides, and locals gather over hot conch fritters and ice-cold Kalik beers to share some easy island camaraderie, and trade tales of the day’s adventures.

Food

Each morning, the kitchen prepares a full, hot, made-to-order breakfast while you assemble your own lunch from a generous selection of cold cuts, fresh fruits, snacks, and beverages. At day’s end you’ll be treated to happy hour appetizers, followed by an authentic, home-cooked Bahamian dinner. Specialties include Melinda’s homemade soups and chowders, cracked conch, grilled crawfish, pan-seared snapper or wahoo, steamed grouper, BBQ chicken or ribs…topped off with a delectable dessert.
