Our partner in Iceland runs the renowned West Rangá River, one of Iceland’s top Atlantic salmon rivers celebrated for its it’s outstanding fishing, complete with a full-service lodge where most guests stay for 2-6 unforgettable days. West Rangá considered one of the most dependable Atlantic salmon rivers in Iceland, consistently ranking as the country’s most productive salmon river across several years.



The West Rangá fishing encompasses approximately 28 kilometers of private double bank water, divided into 6-10 beats with 12-20 rods. This river boasts remarkable stability in terms of water level and fishing, with consistent water levels even during drought or heavy rainfall. Anglers are mainly fishing for the mighty Atlantic salmon, as the average catch is appr. 6000 salmons in one season!
Fishing Season: from 20th June to 20th October

Upper part of West Rangá is known for super BIG Brownies. The Brown Trout Beat is about 30 km of double banks fishing, with a mix of flat pools, pockets and fast water pools.

This is one of the few places in Iceland where you can catch 10 pounder Brown trout. In the autumn is a good change to catch Salmon as well. Brown Trout Season: April 1st – October 20th
